Mersey Intubation Checklist

The Mersey Intubation Checklist project was MAGIQ's first regional project in 2015-16.

Trainees from all hospitals in the region were involved in improving the use of a checklist for out-of-theatre intubations in order to improve safety and communication.

The project imbedded the use of intubation checklists into practice in the region at the time, and these have been maintained since then. During COVID, these checklists were adapted by local hospitals, and proved vital to safe intubation of critically unwell patients.
