Aims: To assess anaesthetic trainee involvement with audit and Quality Improvement and its impact or any barriers to efficacy
Methods: Paper survey of 100 anaesthetic trainees within the Mersey region. Survey items developed from extensive literature review. Results: 69% return rate. Preliminary results indicate that only 18% of audits resulted in a change in patient care and that multidisciplinary involvement was poor.
Outcomes: Some good audit / QI activity is undertaken in the region but this is the exception. Areas to focus on include ensuring reaudit, multidisciplinary involvement, and planned interventions prior to data collection.
Publication: Manuscript in process
